“A Peculiar Incident in Momkovo: Ballots Were Placed in a Box instead of an Urn”

A curious case in the Svilengrad village of Momkovo from today’s election day. Voters cast ballots in a box instead of a ballot box in SIK 33. The reason is that a second ballot box was not found when the section was opened. The SIC people took a box from a nearby store, sealed it, and the vote began. The urn was later discovered.

In this case, an investigative report will be drawn up, the box-box will be sealed, the ballots from it will be counted, commented the deputy chairman of RIC-Haskovo Petar Dimitrov.

There are a total of 16 reports of violations, most of which are unfounded.

Among the fundamental ones is that a machine ballot is not stamped. Apparently the members of the SEC do not know the methodological guidelines, commented the RIC. They are ordered to strictly comply with them, and according to the CEC, the ballots will be counted.

Another complaint concerned a note from the machine that was not placed in the ballot box. In this case, the voter has the right to return and repeat the vote, the RIC explained.
