The 32-year-old Turkish father, Ozgur Givric Oglu, didn’t think his hunting trip would be his last, nor did he think his faithful dog would end his life.
In detailing the painful incident, Ozgur Gevrik Oglu was on his way back from a weekend hunting trip in the Kizlan Plateau, Alakam region of Samsun province of Turkey, when disaster struck yesterday Sunday.
Gevrikoglu is believed to have been placing the gun in the trunk of his car when his dog jumped into the car and pulled its paw on the trigger.

According to Turkish media reports, while the hunter was putting his dog in the trunk of the car, the dog pulled the trigger of the gun, which was still in the “on… i.e. not safety” position and was aimed at the its owner.
Gevrik’s body was first taken to Alakam State Hospital and then taken to Samsun, the state capital, for an autopsy. Local media reported that the victim hunter had become a father just 10 days before his tragic death.
Ozgur Cevrik, who appears to be a dog lover, has long posted a series of photos with many different dogs on hunting trips and it is unclear which dog was responsible for his untimely death.
Footage recently posted on social media shows Gevrikoglu smiling as he grabs a row of dead birds with one hand and strokes a dog’s neck with the other.
A murder or an accident
Police and prosecutors are investigating Cevricoglu’s death and no foul play is suspected. But some media reports speculated that the killer dog’s claim could be a cover-up for a murder.
At least one news agency said the version of events widely reported by local media seemed unlikely, and that Ozgur may, in fact, have been the victim of a targeted attack.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office is working to clarify the circumstances of the accident and whether there are indications that it was a premeditated murder.
