The problem linked to times and methods: in the Five Stars the entry of Giuseppe Conte into the Movement it is expected almost as a necessary, at times redeeming, passage. Virtually all the big players have already spent themselves in welcoming endorsements to the former premier. In the parliamentary group, entry is welcomed by Bulgarian percentages in terms of assent. Pentastellate diplomacy is still working tirelessly: in recent days there have been several contacts between Roberto Fico and Conte, there will also be a summit next Sunday with Beppe Grillo. The guarantor has decided to bring together the staff of the Movement on Sunday in Marina di Bibbona: a summit that should see Luigi Di Maio, Roberto Fico, Davide Casaleggio and probably also the former prime minister (who today returns to the chair at Florence for one lectio magistralis). Why are you in such a hurry? Because in the Movement there is growing anxiety about the process. The incandescent climate that exists in the groups is a problem. And so too the need for confirmation of the new political plan, which has an essential pivot in Conte.

We must clarify if possible before the creation of the steering committee the imprint that the former premier has in mind, they say in the Movement. The summit on Sunday – wanted by the guarantor – would be used precisely to put the project and the statutory changes to be proposed in black and white. This is why a Five Star Conclave. A move precisely to unravel doubts and avoid feeding tensions. Conte, as a rule, cannot run for the collegiate body and a new modification of the statute would lengthen the time again, postponing his entry into the Five Stars to spring forward. Better to anticipate the path, the big names reasoned. There is also a problem of ways. We study how to overcome the current status quo. Conte must enter into something new, without pending headaches, say Sibylline in the Movement. And the hypothesis put in the drawer some time ago makes its way again to merge again into a new association, which starts from scratch and which also has a clearer and more clear relationship with Rousseau. A project – some point out – that could also see the former premier among the new founders. In short, an idea at the moment also to entice the former premier and ennoble his step towards the Five Stars.

If we have to build a new house – the reasoning that makes a pentastellato – better to do it from the ground up, without leaning against the past: a furrow that continues what has been done, that also protects its leader from the aftermath in court. The Grillo summit will serve precisely to unravel these doubts and carry out the project of a 5.0 Movement, with the five stars declined in a more modern key. It is also easy that among the nodes touched one looks at the third mandate, a totem that in a Movement that needs to be structured and that has profoundly changed is no longer untouchable: another thorn to be solved for the premier before entering the complex sphere of the Five Stars. The feeling that there may be more jolts and stomach ache on the horizon. But there are those who take it into consideration. We leave quickly, but above all we leave convinced: without having to scuffle at every step. Better a few, but good, says a pentastellato.
