A NATO aircraft flying over Polish airspace on Tuesday tracked the missile, which hit a local farm near the Ukrainian borderan Alliance military representative told CNN.
“The information with the radar tracks [на ракетата] it has been supplied to NATO and Poland,” the NATO military official added.
Since the start of the Russian invasion, NATO aircraft have conducted regular surveillance around Ukraine. The plane that flew over Poland on Tuesday was monitored the situation in Ukraine.
The NATO official did not say who fired the missile, which was tracked to explode in Poland, or where it was launched from.
General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, spoke with his Ukrainian counterpart on Tuesday, according to information provided by the Pentagon.
Milley discussed the Russian invasion and “exchanged views and assessments” with General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhnyi, the statement said.
The president also reiterated US support for Ukraine, the statement added.
This comes after a rocket exploded on Tuesday in Poland near the Ukrainian border, in which two people died.
Milli also spoke to his Polish counterpart Chief of General Staff Ražmund Andrzejczak, the information said:
“The two leaders discussed Russia’s ongoing incursion into Ukraine and the loss of life near the Polish border and agreed to stay in touch during the investigation.”
