The main roles in the performance will be played by the students of the Riga Dome Choir School, Latvian National Opera and Ballet artists – soloist Kalvis Kalniņš, choir artists – Brigita Čirkše and Daniils Kuzmins, singer Baiba Renerte, pianist Aldis Liepiņš, flutist Vita Rozēna and koklīta Laima. Annas Brigaderes Sprīdītis is one of the brightest plays dedicated to children in Latvian literature, it is a fairy tale, the story of which is Sprīdītis, a little boy who lives with Vecomāti, Lienīte and Pamāti, until he decides to go to the world to seek happiness. However, while encountering many different, interesting images on his way and getting to know the world, Sprīdītis admits that the Happy Land is his own home.
For many children, their parents and grandparents, the well-known fairy tale will be presented this time as a bright and exciting musical story for the whole family. “Great happiness is not in wealth and foreignness, but here in the native home. Both professional artists and young performers – students of the Riga Dome Choir School and the folk dance ensemble – are joining forces in this performance. Gold sieve dancers, ”says its musical director and narrator Karina Bērziņa.
This performance has been performed on the stage of Spīķeri Concert Hall several times and is now returning to delight the youngest spectators.
