Nicknamed “Gypsy King” by Fury, he is one of the toughest boxers ever at the age of 31, and is the WBC champion. Nevertheless, he received an offer from Tyson’s team.
“His people contacted me, and I called Mike directly,” Fury confirmed, then revealed why there was no match that would undoubtedly have taken over the media storm.
“Mike talked about $ 500 million about our match, but what landed on my team’s table was a mockery, completely insane,” explained the current champion, who was apparently dissatisfied with his share. The question is whether billions were at all in the game, or whether Tyson just dreamed of them.
“No matter who offered Mike the money, we would only get change,” Fury added.
He then outlined another possibility of how the duel might have taken place: “I received an offer for ten million dollars (about 240 million crowns) from ESPN to do a boxing exhibition with Mike.”
“Everyone threw it behind their heads,” Gypsy King waved.
He used to confidently claim to beat Tyson in his prime. But now “Iron Mike” is 53 years old. And Fury backs up.
“It would be great to fight him in the ring, but if I lost, people would say I’m a waste because I was beaten by a 53-year-old guy. And if I won, everyone would consider me a bully,” Fury explained.
“Anyway, I would lose in all cases,” he added.
Millions of ESPN have not broken him. “They weren’t worth fighting for the guy behind the zenith.”
Tyson has been retiring as a boxer for 15 years, during which he declared bankruptcy or found a love for marijuana. But as he shows in regular demonstrations from training, he did not lose speed. And he can still deal a very hard blow. But Fury doesn’t feel it.
