A missile hit a NATO country, but there was no drama. This is how NATO worked to prevent a major war.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg held a press conference in Brussels following Tuesday’s massive rocket attack on the whole of Ukraine.

The explosions in Poland have made world leaders flutter. A man probably helped to calm the situation quickly.

Rockets rained down on Ukraine on Tuesday. Never before have so many missiles been fired on the war-torn country. But then it hit a new place. Over the border, in Poland. Two explosions were heard in a small village. Two men in their 60s died. The NATO country Poland has been attacked.

The threat of war between NATO and Russia felt closer than ever.

– I was worried, said General Secretary Jens Stoltenberg about the reaction to the first messages.

But within a day he was able to tell the world that this was not an attack from Russia.

How could he know? And so right after?

A NATO source tells Aftenposten that the incident is being taken very seriously.

But there were no major dramas when the news from Poland arrived. Why not?

The answer involves a plane, two explosions and a man.
