A gigantic amount of liquid manure escaped from a biogas plant in Fuchsstadt (district of Würzburg) on Tuesday night. A farmer noticed this around 3.45 a.m., says Björn Schmitt from the police headquarters in Lower Franconia. The man informed the police about the emergency call, fire brigades from the district of Würzburg tried a short time later to catch the liquid manure that had escaped. “They managed a large part,” says Torsten Maiwald from the Würzburg fire department.
