Part 13 of the Uijeongbu District Law Criminal Agreement (Deputy Judge Jeong Da-ju) sentenced A (65), who was charged with violating the Public Office Election Act and theft of night room intrusion, to two years in prison.

The judge ruled, “As a result of checking all the CCTVs for 8 hours, we cannot accept the defendant’s claim that he received a ballot from a Buddhist merchant,” and said, “It can produce a political conspiracy, so severe punishment is necessary.”

Mr. A was arrested for stealing 6 remaining ballots in the 2nd polling area in Sutaek 2-dong from the physical training room of the Guri Gymnasium, where the ballots were stored by the Guri City Election Commission between April 15 and 16.

Earlier, the prosecution asked Mr. A to be sentenced to three years in prison at a decision trial held on the 4th.

After the April 15 general election, former lawmaker Min Kyung-wook raised suspicion of voting manipulation and disclosed the ballot paper received from Mr. A.
