Thursday afternoon, a man in his thirties was arrested in the town of Baillargues after broadcasting threats on the Snapchat application accompanied by a photo presenting an individual with a weapon.
The case began with a report via the Pharos platform. This acronym is used to designate the Platform for harmonization, analysis, cross-checking and guidance of reports. A website created in 2009 by the French government to allow Internet users to report illegal content and behavior spotted online.
The report made, the threat was quickly taken seriously by the gendarmes who quickly undertook investigations. The individual was arrested in the afternoon by the PSIG saber, and the weapon (dummy) was seized. According to the first elements, it was actually a joke in bad taste.
The words of the individual targeting children, several schools in the area have been secured as a precaution by the gendarmes and municipal police officers of the municipalities concerned, in particular as in Baillargues or Mudaison and even Palavas-les-Flots.
