A life for music

Born in Thuringia, Ronny Söllner then spent time in Neustadt near Coburg and has lived in the Rodach community for six years. Here he has found his new home. “Logistically, Redwitz is the best for me,” says Söllner, explaining his choice with regard to the music. “I can also treat myself to some rest here.”

Passion for singing

Music has determined his life since he was eight. He started with the accordion, piano and keyboard.

Then he discovered his passion for singing. In 2005 he started his own business with music. He played and sang in various bands and duos from the region and was on the move nationwide and abroad.

2006 was an important year when he produced his first single for the radio. He met Rainer Bauersfeld from Trieb, and together they produced the first album. Söllner has a long-lasting friendship with Bauersfeld. Together with Stefan Krug and Andrea Schönecker from Junirecords numerous other singles were created. Three albums were released. In the following years Söllner established himself as a regional artist and was on the road with well-known stars of the music scene. He is known regionally as the “Singing Lifeguard” in Bad Rodach. At numerous dance events in the region he appeared as a soloist, in a duo, as a trio or as a moderator. His own compositions as well as the many compositions he has written for other artists prove that music is in his blood.

“My greatest success so far was in 2011 the first place as a lyricist and composer with the title ‘Kissing 1000 times, Dreaming 1000 times’ at the International Alpine Grand Prix,” says Söllner with a beaming smile. Performers were “Duo Evergreen & Stefanie”.

Since the beginning of 2019, Söllner has taken over the Rodewald Concert Service, among other things with the aim of bringing events to the region. It got off to a good start, but is now very difficult in the Corona period, he says. Among other things, the big Christmas gala in Weidhausen fell victim to the pandemic. But Söllner is optimistic and looks hopefully ahead. “An anniversary dance evening and a concert event ’30 years of Ronny Söllner’ are planned in Weidhausen on September 4th and 5th.

And that is the point that touches him as a musician and singer. “I not only miss the stage, but also the people,” he reveals. “But there is me, I’m there and when it starts, I’ll be in the starting blocks,” he says fiercely. One can only hope that music will soon determine the life of Ronny Söllner again.
