Dr. Ahmed Shawky, a member of the Scientific Committee to Combat Coronavirus at the Ministry of Health, said that it is scheduled to start vaccinating medical teams and priority groups with the emerging corona virus vaccine, with the beginning of the new year.
Shawki added, in statements to Masrawy, today, Tuesday: “We will start immediately with the beginning of the new year, and possibly in the first week of January.”
The Ministry of Health and Population has identified the priority groups for obtaining the emerging corona virus vaccine. The first phase includes the groups most vulnerable to infection with the emerging corona virus and the groups most vulnerable to infection if it occurs, which are: medical teams involved in diagnosing and treating virus cases, followed by medical teams in general.
As for the groups most affected by the infection if it occurs, the following groups:
1- People with chronic diseases (diabetes, high blood pressure, chronic chest diseases, patients with kidney failure).
2- Patients who are immunocompromised, whether due to diseases or drugs.
3- Oncology patients.
4- The elderly.
The Minister of Health, Hala Zayed, said that the vaccine will be distributed to the medical teams in isolation, fever and chest hospitals, as a start to the first phase, with the provision of dedicated centers in the governorates. To provide the vaccine to eligible categories of citizens.
She explained that the target groups will be registered to receive the vaccine, through an online application dedicated to registration and linked to a specific operating system, as the registration includes medical staff in isolation, fever and chest hospitals as a first stage, and special data will be entered and all information about the vaccine will be made available for review, and doses will be provided to the crews After registering through the application, follow-up and make sure to receive the second dose after 21 days.
