A Fouquet’s hotel will open in New York

The Barrière group announces Tuesday, September 7 the opening to New York, in the summer of 2022, of a second Le Fouquet’s hotel, a variation of its Champs-Elysées establishment with which it is establishing itself in the United States. The family business, which owns 33 casinos and a gaming club, but also 18 hotels (mostly 5 stars and a palace in Courchevel) and more than 140 restaurants and bars, will open this establishment in the Tribeca district, specifies- he in a statement. It will have 96 rooms and suites spread over eight floors and several restaurants including a Fouquet’s brasserie and targets “American and European customers”, continues the group, which has been entrusted with the management of the establishment by the company Caspi Development. .

The group recently opened the Barrière Le Carl Gustaf hotel on the island of Saint-Barthélemy, “the first approach to the American market”, he says. In addition, Barrière announces the opening of a Paradiso restaurant – after the one in Cannes – in Abu Dhabi, next November, the stoves of which will be entrusted to the three-star chef Pierre Gagnaire. “We are particularly proud that this return to school is placed under the sign of recovery and development with two major international opening projects by the summer of 2022”, says the CEO of the group Dominique Desseigne, quoted by the communicated.

In 2020, the group’s gross gaming revenue plunged 27% due to the health crisis linked to Covid-19. This international development policy is supported by the group’s strategy and development director, Alexandre Desseigne-Barrière, son of Dominique Desseigne and his wife Diane Barrière, who died in 2001, six years after a terrible accident in airplane.
