A fire broke out in an industrial hall on 2e Energieweg in Roden on Tuesday afternoon just before three o’clock.
The fire spreads quickly. Black clouds of smoke can be seen from afar.
The fire brigade has announced GRIP-1. Fire brigades from Roden, Leek, Norg, Veenhuizen, Peize, Groningen and Eelde have been called up to fight the fire.
The Drenthe Safety Region advises local residents to keep windows and doors closed and to switch off fans.
The cause and exact size of the fire are still unclear. In any case, the fire is raging in the premises of a company that rents out light and sound equipment for parties.
