Ivo Prokopiev’s pawns deny their obscurantist project

Just one day. This is how the scandalous project for the version of the Magnitsky Act presented as a BG exists. The normative act, developed by Asen Vassilev’s team and announced by the Minister of Finance himself as “methodical instructions”, turned out to be such a hot potato that all the oligarch Ivo Prokopiev’s pawns suddenly hurried to get rid of him.

But let’s follow the chronology. On Thursday, the media announced that the finance ministry was preparing an emergency law setting up a special body led by Assen Vassilev. The National Council in question had to draw up blacklists of people whose property was to be blocked, and they themselves were to be investigated by KPKONPI. And all this without trial, sentence and opportunity for defense of Themis. Real security officers. A law created against the inconveniences of power to be used as intended by the oligarchy and its proxies in power.

Neither motives nor financial justification are attached to the law itself. It is assumed that through the act, the government initially tried to introduce in our country the application of the American law “Magnetic”, which the EU has already stated categorically that it can not be applied in the countries of the union. For this reason, several different panels of the Supreme Administrative Court refused to apply the sanctions that the caretaker cabinet and in particular the then ministers Asen Vassilev and Kiril Petkov tried to impose in our country. Even then, the creators of “Continuing Change” announced that they would harass EU law and write their own law “Magnitsky”.

It is publicly known that Prokopiev has been trying for years to crush his biggest enemy in the face of the opposition MRF and the MP from the movement Delyan Peevski. The reason is that the party and Peevski himself have been publicly revealing Prokopiev’s scandals in politics, business and the media for years. This is the reason why Prokopiev is at the heart of the denunciations against Peevski overseas, which led to the sanctions under the Magnitsky Act. Peevski himself has repeatedly stated that he appeals US sanctions and believes in justice and American justice.

After the law became public, the first to jump against it were the representatives of the legal and constitutional community in our country, who declared it obscurantist. And they explained in a euphemistic way that if the person who wrote the law claims to be a lawyer, he is most likely suffering from a serious form of autism.

But then the politicians came out – those who should know what Asen Vassilev and his team are doing. The PP’s coalition partners abruptly rejected the attempt of the political twins Prosto Kiro and Prosto Asen to return the People’s Court to Bulgaria.

Even the most serious brothers of the PP – their blood brothers in the oligarchic line of “Democratic Bulgaria” differed from the Red Cross legislation and tried to get down as if they were in an elevator. It does not matter that one of the possible authors of the law is the former secretary of Hristo Ivanov and current Minister of Justice Nadezhda Yordanova. Lena Borislavova even deliberately directed the cameras in this direction, emphasizing that the cabinet was not aware of Yordanova’s draft.

An apparently fratricidal war is looming between Prokopiev’s children on the political scene, who have apparently tried to satisfy their boss’s ambitions and are now melting into each other.

And for even greater credibility of the denial, they released their loyal spokesman Daniel Smilov, who pretended to be punished and tried to justify his political misdeeds and his oligarch Prokopiev. Smilov himself gave birth to the ingenious thesis that it was not even certain what this bill was and who wrote it, and did anyone even know if these were the pawns of “Capital”. An old strategy of the oligarchic swamp, in which, when it gets hot, one goes to the bearded refrain with elements of “The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices”: “Abe, who did this?”.

And while on the air of BNT Smilov was trying to play a bad stand-up comedy in defense of his boss Ivo Prokopiev, in the same studio came the refutation of his lies. Journalist Valeria Veleva, editor-in-chief of Epicenter.bg, announced that her website was the first to release the document, which she received from Asen Vassilev’s team. And any attempt to infiltrate the protective version that the document is of obscure origin is not just a lie, but a wretched attempt to wash away the shame. In addition, Veleva stressed that the government has explicitly written in its program that by April 30 they will prepare the bill in question for the Bulgarian version of “Magnitsky” and now to pretend to be tweaked is a bit embarrassing.

But the oligarch does not know shame. And we will not be surprised if tomorrow they try with full force to try even more aggressively the thesis that they do not know who wrote the shameful law and who imagined that he would use it for personal gain.
