A Ferrari, a Porsche and a Corvette forgotten in the dealership – Mondo Auto

Being an urban explorer sometimes happens to discover abandoned places that reserve unique surprises. It recently happened to James Wan, a youtuber and part-time instagrammer who stumbled upon a former Ferrari-Maserati dealership in Canton, in southern China. Rooms in dim light, showcases with shelves full of pony and trident accessories, dusty sofas, official signs hanging on the walls. And then what you don’t expect. Three virtually untouched supercars, protected by a thick blanket of dust, asleep for who knows how long.

According to what reported by Carscoops, the showroom opened its doors in 2005 to close them permanently a few years later. Certainly before 2011, since on the walls of the dealership there are posters and accessories of the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, which went out of production just nine years ago. Since then, in the halls of the dealership a Ferrari 575 Superamerica, a Porsche Carrera GT and a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 rest suspended out of time. It is still unclear why these cars, which have now become highly sought after collectibles, have remained locked up all this time. Let’s take for example the Carrera GT in Zanzibar red metallic. It has only traveled a few kilometers and appears to be number 1255 which left the Zuffenhausen factory. Value around a million dollars, around 850,000 euros.

Even Ferrari is a piece that, if it were to return to the street, would steal glances and flashes like a diva. Superamerica is a limited series of the 575 which, thanks to the electrically foldable glass roof, can transform from coupé to rodaster in less than ten seconds. Furthermore, the specimen forgotten in the Canton dealership is even rarer as it is one of the 43 that came out of the Maranello plant with the six-speed manual gearbox. A little less hype arouses the Corvette, which still remains an icon of American sports motoring and has little or nothing to envy to many modern supercars in terms of performance.
