A worrying fact about a company that is included in a blacklist for fraud, but related to the new Minister of Finance Valeri Belchev, shocked senior officials from the Ministry of Finance, writes “Labor.”
It turns out that Belchev was a procurator of Global Strategies EAD in the period 17.11.2020 to 26.03.2021. At the beginning of March this year (10.03.2021) the Financial Supervision Commission published a warning list with companies for which a significant number of complaints have been received from Bulgarian citizens who claim to have lost money as a result of fraud. Among the eight companies is Global Strategies EAD.
Literally 16 days later Belchev was deleted as a procurator by the company.
Belchev has warm relations with the “Harvard” staff Asen Vassilev and Kiril Petkov, reminded by directorates in the Ministry of Finance.
After violating the Law on Public Enterprises, Kiril Petkov appointed Valeri Belchev without a competition to represent the State Consolidation Company. He was registered as a member of the Board of Directors on 16.09.2021 and has not yet been deregistered from the Commercial Register, which raises the question of the exact implementation of the provisions of the Constitution.
Relations with Kiril Petkov are intertwined on the Harvard line. Belchev is in the management of the Bulgarian Harvard Club Association, together with Kiril Petkov’s lawyer – Lena Borislavova, employed by the Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) on a contract of 7,000 euros without VAT per month and an additional 140 euros without VAT per hour.
The new caretaker Minister of Finance was for a short time also an employee of the Bulgarian Development Bank, but very quickly his contract was left without renewal.
