The local government continues with the procedure for the eviction of squatters from the Metrosidero warehouses. The governing board gives from today a period of eight days to this group to leave the old Commandery of Works, following the process of vacating the property to start up a youth social center. Once this period has elapsed, the mayor has said, the necessary measures will be taken.
Today the board has approved to resolve negatively the allegations presented by one of these people because, it has said, it does not allude to legal issues and the prosecution of the procedure.
The ships have a reform project approved by the Ministry of the Interior. They have been the residence of a group of squatters for more than a year. The Ministry of Development has already awarded the reform works and the eviction of these people is pending.
