a closed class and ten animators from a leisure center placed in fourteen in Villemomble

Friday August 28, a recreation center animator “1,2,3 Soleil” de Villemomble (Seine-Saint-Denis) tested positive for Covid-19. He was immediately placed in a fortnight like a dozen other facilitators who must pass screening tests. The structure has been completely disinfected, assures the town hall.

A student tested positive on the first day of school

On the other hand, the children who were present were not placed in fortnight or screened, because they were not considered as contact cases by the Regional Health Agency. They were therefore able to go back to school on Tuesday, September 1, as if nothing had happened. However, the parents of a little boy attending Foch school, in CM2, had nevertheless taken the initiative to have their child tested during the weekend and the result – positive – fell at midday, Tuesday, when the boy had already entered his class. Result: the 28 students were sent home and placed in fourteen.

School case

According to our information, no measure had been taken by the Regional Health Agency or by the National Education to avoid mixing between the children who were welcomed the previous week in this leisure center and the others. At the same time, there is no evidence that the child who tested positive was infected at this center, by the ill facilitator or another.

This is a real textbook case, ofa puzzle that could well happen again. At this rate, some municipalities fear having to manage daily class closures.
