United States Protesters on Saturday shut down a freeway in Atlanta, United States, and burned down a Wendy’s restaurant where a black man, Rayshard Brooks, 27, was shot dead by police when he tried to escape arrest. This tragedy risks further exacerbating tensions in the United States after the emotion raised by the death, last week, of George Floyd in Minneapolis. The police department fired the officer accused of shooting the 27-year-old man. Another officer involved in the incident has been suspended. Both are white. Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields has resigned. The Fulton County District Attorney has opened an investigation.
