A better Covid-19 Vaccine will arrive at the end of 2021

KOMPAS.com – Covid Vaccine-19 new, including those that do not use needles and can be stored at room temperature, may be ready for use later this year or next year.

This good wish was said by the World Health Organization’s top scientists (WHO).

“Clinical trials and reviews of 6-8 new vaccines may be completed by the end of the year,” said Soumya Swaminathan, WHO chief scientist in Geneva in an interview.

Reported Bloomberg News, Monday (15/3/2021), the new vaccine will add to the list of 10 vaccines that have proven effective one year after the Covid-19 pandemic.

WHO said the world needed more vaccine stocks, especially because the virus was continuously circulating, giving rise to dangerous new variants.

According to Bloomberg data, so far only 122 countries have started immunizing their citizens.

“We are very excited about the vaccine that is currently available,” said Swaminathan, an Indian pediatrician known for his research on tuberculosis and HIV.

“But we can improve (the vaccine capability) even further. I think, as we enter 2022, we will see an emergence the Covid vaccine-19 which is better, “he added.

Current experimental vaccines use alternative technologies and methods.

Vaccines include more single-use inoculations, and they can be given orally, via a nasal spray, and through the skin using a type of patch.
