The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate, in collaboration with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children “NCMEC” of the USA, identified two men, aged 31 and 18, who, using various online services, had gained access to child pornography on Internet.
The above information and data were brought to the attention of the Athens District Attorney’s Office and after correspondence with the internet service providers and from the further police preliminary investigation, the information and the residence of the two people involved emerged.
Searches followed at the defendants’ homes, in the presence of a judicial officer, during which 3 mobile phones, 2 hard drives and 1 SIM card were found and confiscated.
In fact, as pointed out by ELAS, from the on-site inspection of the digital evidence in the possession of the 31-year-old, a large amount of material (photos and videos) of sexual abuse of minors was found, which is why he was arrested in the context of the autoforo, while for the 18-year-old, it was identified his involvement in the illegal activity, but the conditions of the automatic procedure were not met and the file that was formed will be submitted to the competent prosecutorial authority.
