On Tuesday morning, the police and FIOD arrested four Brabant residents in an international investigation into the laundering of tens of millions of drug money. They invested their drug proceeds in gold and diamonds in Africa, among other things. Buildings and bank accounts at home and abroad have been seized.
The suspects are men aged 30 to 42 from Geldrop, Nuenen, Veldhoven. The fifth suspect is a woman from Limburg. It would be money earned from the hemp and cocaine trade.

According to the Public Prosecution Service, the action day is the result of years of investigation, which started in 2017. Since six o’clock on Tuesday morning, searches have been carried out at nineteen locations in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France. In total, more than 330 employees participate in the promotion.

The suspects are in limitation and may only have contact with their lawyer. The investigation also focuses on other suspects. New arrests are not excluded, according to the OM.
