In China, the number of people who have died from the novel coronavirus is skyrocketing. With more than 240 deaths within one day, the value is significantly higher than the previous daily balance sheets. China’s authorities are trying to calm down.
The number of deaths caused by the novel corona virus in the central Chinese province of Hubei has risen by 242 since Wednesday. This was announced by the regional government of the province from which the epidemic started in December.
According to the information, the increase in the death toll, which is well above the previous daily balance sheet, is related to the fact that the criteria for the determination of contagions by the virus SARS-COV-2 are now broader.
The provincial government health committee also announced that another 14,840 cases of infection with the pathogen had been confirmed in the province. The official total number of cases in mainland China rose to more than 59,000. The vast majority of deaths and infections continue to occur in Hubei. The authorities have largely isolated the province from the outside world.
