This Tuesday, Lionel Messi scored his 700th goal as a professional by scoring Barcelona’s 2-1 set against Atlético Madrid, in a duel valid for the 33rd date of the Spanish League.
The Argentine scored a penalty kick, biting the ball to goalkeeper Jan Oblak, thus entering the select group of players who have scored 700 or more goals in football history.
But there could be a mistake. And there is so much controversy that it was ceded to Messi but that, as the images show, it was the work of the Chilean Alexis Sanchez.
It happened on March 24, 2012, when the ‘Wonder Boy’ was playing for the Catalans who visited Mallorca. The opening of the account was a free kick by Messi, which Sánchez managed to deflect by touching the ball.
However, the judge Miguel Ángel Ayza reported that the goal was from the trans-Andean, which is why ‘Lio’ now registers 700 goals.
The goal was re-floated by some fans who installed the controversy, insisting that Messi is at the modest figure of 699 goals.
Check the goal and the comments:
Alexis in addition to taking away 2 America Cups, would leave Messi without goal 700 … 700

For me it is Alexis’ goal in 2012.
So that would be 699 Messi’s.— Crewe (@profundamentea1) July 1, 2020
Can you imagine an association appears with a lot of Madrid fans to ask them to take away a goal of the 700 from Messi? Neither do I

They talk again about Alexis’ “goal” to take away the 700 from Messi. It gives me something
