[MàJ Rumeur] Microsoft should have launched Xbox Series X in August according to Thurrott – News

Microsoft contacted us this morning indicating that we do not want to comment.

In December 2019, during the Game Awards, Microsoft unveiled the Xbox Series X, its new generation console that was previously called Anaconda. During this announcement, we discovered that the machine would be launched at the end of 2020. However, it would seem that the initial plans were different.

According to Brad Sams, journalist for Thurrott, Microsoft initially planned to launch Xbox Series X in August 2020, then the Lockhart, still undisclosed, in October. The latter seems confident, but does not mention the reasons that motivated Microsoft to change its plans, especially that at the time of the announcement, the Covid-19 was still far from pandemic status.

Concerning the Lockart, it evokes an announcement first scheduled for June, but it would have slipped in August without him being able to say, even if Eurogamer is going in the same direction. This discrepancy would be linked to an adaptation by Microsoft, which had to deal with the cancellation of E3 and other trade shows. All this is to be taken with very large tweezers, and, for our part, we contacted Microsoft to try to find out more.
