Health reports 112 new infections and the death of a 90-year-old man by COVID-19



The Health Department reported this Friday 112 new unique positive cases of COVID-19 between molecular and serological tests, so the total number amounts to 4,620.

For the second consecutive day the number of infections is over a hundred. Yesterday’s daily report added 130 positives. The agency also added 355 cases corresponding to the months of March to May that had not been reported.

The new results are divided into eight that were obtained through molecular tests whose total increased to 1,330, while the remaining 104 cases were obtained by serological tests that now total 3,290.

The universe of unique cases is broken down into 2,257 that correspond to men and 2,363 to women.

Currently, the number of patients hospitalized for COVID-19 is 116. In addition, nine patients are in an intensive care unit and only seven are connected to an artificial respirator.

San Juan continues as the municipality with the most reported cases (626), followed by Bayamón (279) and Guaynabo (237). Meanwhile, the Metro region is where there are the largest number of cases with 1,289, followed by the Bayamón region (883), Caguas (641) and Ponce (604).

Likewise, patients between 50 and 59 years of age dominate the age range with the highest number of infections (933), followed by the group of 40 to 49 years (800) and that of 30 to 39 years (710).
