World champion Lionel Messi, vice world champion Kylian Mbappé, Brazil’s top star Neymar – three of the best footballers in the world will be playing live and exclusively at MagentaSport. TheTelekom has secured all rights to the Coupe de France until the 2025/26 season. The package includes up to 35 live games. The start will be on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, with a round of 16 brace and a great tradition: Olympique Lyon will play OSC Lille from 6:05 p.m., followed by the top game Olympique Marseille against champions Paris Saint-Germain from 9:05 p.m. The French Football Cup looks back on a 105-year history and, alongside the championship, is the most important national club competition in the country of the runner-up world champions.
With the start of the round of 16 in the Coupe de France, MagentaSport is expanding its live football portfolio with a very attractive right. France is the most successful European football country, with renowned clubs such as Paris Saint Germain and opponents in the round of 16 Marseille, as well as its superstars Messi, Mbappe, Neymar and Sergio Ramos, it offers a top international level. The exclusive cup package includes up to 35 live games and also the women’s cup final on May 13th, 2023. The Coupe de France matches run from February 28th to March 1st in the quarterfinals, on April 4th and 5th in the semifinals On April 29th the finale will be shown exclusively. In the French Cup, the final rounds are played in a knockout system, with a tie going straight to penalties. An extension is only possible in the final.
After two years of dominating Paris St. Germain, the title holder is currently FC Nantes. Winning the Coupe de France entitles you to participate in the UEFA Euro League and the French Supercup. The renowned cup competition is very important in France because – similar to Germany – it also gives amateur or lower-class clubs access against attractive teams.
