Defective cable causes power failures in the Breisgau

Bring was without electricity for around four hours

Numerous cities and towns south of Freiburg were without electricity for several hours on Tuesday morning (May 26, 2020). According to a spokeswoman for Badenova’s energy supplier Badenova, a defective cable in E brought in may have caused the power outages. The substation in Tunsel was temporarily paralyzed. From 4.17 a.m. large parts of Bad Krozingen, Eringen, Pfaffenweiler, Schallstatt, Bollschweil and Norsingen therefore no longer had electricity. While things went relatively quickly in Bad Krozingen – after about three quarters of an hour the power supply was restored – the residents of Eringen sometimes had to wait around four hours for their households to be online again.
