He is already considered the richest person in the world, according to “Forbes” with a current fortune of approximately $ 144 billion. But according to the “Comparisun” business platform, Bezos will continue to climb steeply: In just 5.5 years, Bezos would have accumulated $ 1,000,000,000,000 in assets, according to the forecast.
“Comparisun”: Bezos will be a billionaire in 2026
“Comparisun” is dedicated to a number of people and companies, not just the Amazon founder. However, they did not use complicated mathematical models for their predictions, they simply took the growth average of the past five years and carried it over to the future.
Bezos’ assets have grown an average of 34 percent over the past five years. Taking his current fortune of around $ 144 billion as the basis for the calculation, the richest man in the world would break the $ 1 trillion mark by 2026 – at the age of 62.
Amazon is seeing increased demand for online purchases
Whether this simple calculation works, however, remains questionable. Bezos’ fortune is inextricably linked to Amazon’s value. In fact, his company is doing very well even in Corona times. According to Forbes, Amazon has already hired 100,000 full-time and part-time workers during the pandemic to meet the growing demand for online purchases.

The company’s stock market value has increased almost six-fold since summer 2015. But to push Bezos’ 11 percent stake above the trillion mark, Amazon would have to increase its value eightfold and have a total value of over a trillion dollars.
Recession will not leave Amazon unscathed either
In addition, the economic impact of the corona pandemic will hardly leave Amazon unscathed – there are already strong signs of an economic crisis in other areas of the global economy. Bezos himself also warned at the end of April that “the hardest time” in the company’s history was ahead of it.
It is certain, however, that the Amazon founder will not be financially difficult so quickly: Even the expensive divorce from his ex-wife MacKenzie, which cost Jeff Bezo’s Amazon shares worth $ 36 billion, could not sustainably depress his wealth.
