Only Limburg changes color on European corona map | 1Limburg

For the Netherlands, not much will change on the map of corona cases in Europe on Thursday. In Limburg, the number of positive tests is falling, allowing the province to take a step down from red to orange.

For the rest, the Netherlands will remain as it is. Flevoland, North Holland and South Holland remain red and the rest of the country remains orange.

European corona map
The corona map is made every Thursday by ECDC, the European counterpart of the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). The service looks at the number of confirmed infections and the percentage of positive tests in the two previous calendar weeks. The card has four colors. From low to high these are green, orange, red and dark red.

North Rhine-Westphalia
In Germany, the number of positive tests is increasing rapidly. The state of North Rhine-Westphalia, which borders the Netherlands, went from green to orange to red in two weeks. The same goes for Berlin.

More positive tests have also been seen recently in Wallonia, Austria and Scandinavia.

Biggest corona fires
The biggest fires are still the holiday destinations in southern Europe, such as Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece and the French Mediterranean coast. In Eastern Europe, the outbreak was still reasonably under control last week.
