TIME.CO, Jakarta -Former National Police Propam Division Chief Ferdy Sambo said Indonesian Police should have opened case investigation report Ismail Bolong regarding the alleged deposit of illegal coal mining products in East Kalimantan to high-ranking officials of the national police.
Ferdy Sambo responded to a statement by Criminal Investigation Police Commissioner General Agus Andrianto who asked Ferdy Sambo to open the BAP. “It was they who opened up, because it’s me, they already exist,” Ferdy Sambo said after the premeditated murder trial of Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat in the South Jakarta District Court on Nov. 29, 2022.
Previously, asked Agus Andrianto Freddy Sambo to open the investigation report on the case of Ismail Bolong cs. “As far as I remember, they have never been examined. Just remove the record,” said Agus Andrianto when he was contacted by journalists on Tuesday 29 November 2022.
Komjen Agus responded to Ferdy Sambo’s earlier statement by saying that Propam Polri Division had looked into Ismail Bolong and Kabareskrim in an investigation into illegal coal mine deposits in East Kalimantan involving senior National Police officials.
“Once, at that time (checking Ismail Bolong and Kabareskrim),” Ferdy Sambo said during the recess of Brigadier J’s murder trial at South Jakarta District Court on Tuesday, November 29, 2022.
Ferdy Sambo said that he had officially submitted an investigation findings report to the management regarding the investigation into the Ismail Bolong case. Through the report, he explained that the investigation process of the Propam Polri Division had been concluded and was just underway. “I have made an official report. That means it just needs to be followed up,” said Ferdy Sambo.
Investigation of cases of illegal mining

The Chief of Police is unaware of the involvement of senior police officers

Reports said that illegal coal miners have been giving “coordination money” to senior East Kalimantan Police officers since July 2020. East Kalimantan Police officials are said to have received coordination money from Ismail Bolong cs, the amount of which varied between Rp. Rp 30,000. 80,000 per ton. From October to December 2021, according to the report, they were reported to have received money between IDR 600 million and IDR 5 billion.
The largest flow was for the East Kalimantan Police Chief at that time, Inspector General Herry Rudolf Nahak and his deputy. Herry is suspected of having received IDR 5 billion from October to December 2021, while his deputy is suspected of having received IDR 1 billion.
Meanwhile, Komjen Agus Andrianto is said to have received deposit money for illegal coal mining from Ismail Bolong in the amount of IDR 2 billion every month between October and December 2021 in US dollars. Listyo Sigit Prabowo said he removed Herry Rudolf and other related officials over this case. “At that time, we had removed the regional police chief and related officials,” Listyo said.
