The PSSI has decided to hold an Extraordinary Congress (KLB). The decision to hold the KLB was relayed directly by PSSI President General Mochamad Iriawan after the Executive Committee (Exco) meeting on Friday (28/10) night.
“We have decided to speed up the ordinary electoral congress through the mechanism of the extraordinary congress according to the organizational rules,” said PSSI general president Mochamad Iriawan on the federation’s official YouTube channel.
A new general president and a board of directors of the PSSI will be elected in the KLB. So who is the candidate for the general presidency of the PSS who will be elected later in the KLB?
Vice President of the X DPR RI Commission, Dede Yusuf, said whoever is elected as the next general president of PSSI must be someone who understands football very well. When asked about the name, Dede refused to mention it.
“Even though I know it’s impossible for me to talk about it right now, it has to be official. However, friends, you know (who) people are involved in sports or football, maybe those names will appear,” Dede told Bandung., Saturday (29/10/2022).
According to Dede, the names that will appear will certainly be those who have experience in national football. The DPR RI itself cannot intervene on the candidate for the General Presidency of the PSSI who will be subsequently selected in the KLB.
However, he wants, whoever is going to be elected next, must be able to take the changes in the football parent organism in a better direction.
“Surely the names that already exist in the world of football are impossible or not. For us it cannot interfere, right. The point is to be able to make changes for the better, I see. If I am in the DPR, I see the side of the legislation, of the rules”, he said.
“Whoever is chosen, please go ahead, that is internal to him (PSSI). If you want to come to the owner of the club, come to anyone, you are welcome but they have an interest in the world of football”, he continued.
“Hopefully there will be improvements. The key to improving for me is the SOP or government regulations related to the implementation of football,” continued this democratic politician.
Although he did not want to nominate the candidate for the post of PSSI president, Dede Yusuf provided a “code” on the person who would occupy the seat of the PSSI 1. According to him he is a person close to the current ruler.
“(Criteria) do not exist, just if we can say that the PSSI is close to power. I think later (names) will appear who is close to power. Why? Before there were regulations there, there was synergy with the sponsors, the support of the structures, otherwise being close to power is definitely a bit difficult, “he explained.
