Freiburg (dpa) – Coach Christian Streich tested positive for coronavirus one day before SC Freiburg’s home match in the Europa League against FC Nantes. According to the current status on Thursday (21:00 / RTL +), the 57-year-old will not be sitting on the bench in Freiburg, an SC spokesperson said Wednesday.

For the pre-match press conference, Streich will be connected from home on Wednesday afternoon. First, the SWR reported Streich’s corona infection. After two wins in two games so far, the Baden Bundesliga team leads Group G with six points.

Coach Urs Fischer of Bundesliga 1 leader FC Union Berlin will also be absent from his club’s European Cup game on Thursday (18:45 / RTL +) due to a crown infection. The 56-year-old Swiss will be represented by his assistant Markus Hoffmann in the Malmö FF match.
