Lufthansa only distributes water on flights

Cologne –

They take off again: Lufthansa and its subsidiaries Eurowings and Swiss want to go up again more often in June. Destinations such as Mallorca, Sylt, Rostock or Crete are then on the flight schedule again.

Eurowings said the focus of the subsidiary airline’s flight plan was on destinations in the Mediterranean. Accordingly, the airline also flies to Milan up to four times a week, as well as to Great Britain.

Lufthansa: No more tomato juice on board

But passengers still have to reckon with restrictions. As the “Welt” reports, a popular detail will be missing in the future: the tomato juice!

It should no longer be served to passengers. The corona virus is also to blame here. In order to minimize the contact between cabin crew and passengers as far as possible, only water bottles should be issued, the report says.

Tomato juice of all things. It is one of the most popular drinks on flights.

In Corona times, there will only be limited catering on board the Lufthansa aircraft. Instead of tomato juice and open drinks (as in our symbol photo from 2010), there should only be water bottles.

Lufthansa confirms on its website that the catering offer on board remains limited until further notice. In addition, all passengers on board must wear masks.

Lufthansa reactivated 80 more aircraft

With the “June flight plan”, a total of 80 aircraft are to be reactivated, said Lufthansa. This means that a total of 106 destinations can be flown to in the coming month. From June 1, the group’s passenger airlines will use 160 aircraft instead of the 80 that were previously used.

“We feel a great desire and longing for people to travel again. Hotels and restaurants are slowly opening, visits to friends and family are sometimes allowed again. With all due care, we now enable people to catch up and experience what they had to do without for a long time. Of course, the safety and health of our guests and employees have top priority, ”said Harry Hohmeister, Member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Lufthansa AG.
