Comment by Fio banka analyst Jiho Kostky

On Wednesday, April 20, Komern banka’s General Meeting approved the payment of a dividend from the profit of 2021 at 43.80 CZK per share. This is a return to the dividend policy after the coronavirus crisis, namely the payment of 60 and 70% of the net profit. Last year was a very good year for Komern banka, when in the year the rates began to increase and at the same time it turned out that the effects of the coronavirus crisis are not so great. On the basis of this, the bank started to unleash a provision, which led to an interim gain of 56% to 12.7 billion CZK. As for the dividends this year, Komern banka itself has indicated that in the second half of the year it decides to decide on the divested capital in the form of a dividend of about 55K per share. This would mean that this year’s overall dividend could approach 100K per share.

The outlook for five years is positive for Komern banka. Still, from a considerable point of view, there is a slight potential for giving detachable repairs to the period. The Czech National Bank sharply increased the annual rate (2W repo rate), from 0.25% during 2021 and at the current 5.00%. This in itself will lead to a baptism of profitability. On the other hand, the influence of wolves on Ukraine will manifest itself in the form of a slowdown in GDP growth. Both high rates and lower GDP growth will be reflected in a slower growth rate of the portfolio. The chart shows, among other things, our dividend projection for five years. Their stabilization and growth of more than 50K per share should occur.
