The best: Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro 14ACN6 (82L70077MH)
In our opinion, the IdeaPad 5 is the best choice, because it is at home in all markets. This is partly due to the good processor. The Ryzen 5 5600U processor with six cores is almost the fastest in this price range. This laptop has an above-average screen, with a higher resolution than a Full HD panel (2,240×1,400). It is not an OLED screen, but it is the best LCD screen you can get for this price.
–
The housing of the IdeaPad 5 Pro is made entirely of aluminum, which gives the laptop a professional look. Moreover, it also easily lasts a working day, because the battery life is eleven hours. However, this laptop with 1,450 grams is not exactly the lightest.
–
The sound from this laptop is good, although the sound would probably have been clearer if the speakers were not on the bottom, but on either side of the keyboard.
–
The keyboard itself is very nice to type on and is backlit for when it gets dark or dark. The lighting can even be dimmed, if you don’t want to turn it into a whole light box.
–
The fastest: Acer Swift 3 (SF314-43-R2LX)
Most laptops under $800 have four or six processor cores, but this Acer has eight. That makes the laptop smoother than many competitors. The working memory of 16 GB and the 512 GB solid state drive (SSD) confirm that this laptop offers good specifications for its price.
–
It is also a very light laptop (1.2 kilograms) and that is also – literally – its weak point. The housing is partly made of plastic and is therefore not too heavy, but can also give a little. You can see this, for example, when you press hard on the keyboard or the touchpad.
–
The good specifications also seem to have forced Acer to cut back on image quality. Basically it is a great screen, with a Full HD resolution of 1,920×1,080 pixels. It is also provided with a matte coating, which minimizes reflections. The maximum brightness is disappointing and the screen cannot display the full color spectrum of the sRGB standard.
–
Most cheaper laptops can’t do that either, but in this price category there are more and more laptops that can.
