Two suspects arrested abroad for the murder of Peter R. de Vries

It Public Prosecution Service reports that a 27-year-old man has been arrested in Curaçao. The man, who has Dutch nationality, will soon be transferred to the Netherlands.

In addition, a 26-year-old Dutch man was arrested in Spain. The Spanish authorities have been requested to surrender the man. It may take several weeks before the suspects are in the Netherlands, the Public Prosecution Service says.

Consciously filmed

After the attack on 6 July last year, videos of the shot De Vries quickly appeared on the internet. According to Het Parool, these men are suspected of to have made videos.

Investigation services immediately suspected that this was done deliberately. By having the attack filmed and immediately distributed, the clients ensure maximum attention.


The arrests bring the total number of suspects in the murder case to five. Yesterday Krystian M. (27) was arrested, who, according to the Public Prosecution Service, gave instructions to the people who committed the murder. M. sent encrypted messages via a smartphone to Delano G. (22), who was the suspected shooter, and driver Kamil E. (46).

Taghi

Peter R. de Vries succumbed to his injuries nine days after the attack. According to Het Parool, Krystian M. can be linked to the criminal organization of Ridouan Taghi.

Against Delano G. and Kamil E. is now a life sentence demanded. They will hear their verdict on 14 July.
