How to make WhatsApp Offline even though it’s Online, I just regretted knowing!

Well, here are some ways you can try to look offline even though online on WhatsApp:

1. Change Last Seen Options

Last Seen is a feature to notify contacts when was the last time a user used WhatsApp, including when online. You can turn off this feature to look moderate offline.

How to disable it is to touch the three-dot icon in the upper right corner, select Settings and next account click Privacy.

On the Who Can See My Personal Info menu, click Last Seen and select Nobody. The options are for everyone, on saved contacts or not.

2. Turn off Blue Tick

With a blue check mark it makes you look like you have read the message sent. Here’s how to turn it off:

  • Click the three dots icon in the upper right corner of WhatsApp
  • Select Settings
  • Tap Account > Privacy
  • Sliding toggle for the option of Read Reports or Read Receipts
  • The blue tick is deactivated

3. Hide Status

To appear offline, you can also hide status. Namely set who can see it. To do this, press the three-dot option at the top right > Privacy > Status.

Next you will see options on who the Status is shared with, there are “My Contacts”, “My Contacts Except…”, and “Only Share With…”. Choose as desired.

4. Create a Status

In addition to hiding it, you can also create a status that states not to be disturbed for a certain period of time. The trick is to open the three-dot icon menu > Settings > WhatsApp profile name > About.

After that click the pencil icon, and write a status to notify others if the account will be offline in certain time. Finally, don’t forget to click Save.

5. Turn off Background Data

WhatsApp works on background and keeps you from receiving messages. You can turn off Background Data to avoid this, but keep in mind that this method only applies to Android.

The way to disable it is to open Settings, then open data options, and select Disable Background Data.
