As reported AFPFriday (1/7/2022), the Russian Foreign Ministry said it summoned British Ambassador Deborah Bronnert in Moscow on Thursday (30/6) local time.
Russia told Bronnert that it “unequivocally” rejected “blatantly offensive comments by the British authorities against Russia, its leaders, its officials as well as the Russian people”.
“In polite society, it has become customary to apologize for such statements,” the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also denounced Johnson’s remarks about Putin as “unacceptable rhetoric of insults”.
It is known that on Tuesday (28/6) local time, Johnson said Putin would not start a war in Ukraine if he was a woman. He also called Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which Moscow called a ‘special military operation’, a ‘perfect example of toxic masculinity’.
