FT: Turkey blocks the first step in the formal NATO process for Sweden and Finland
The NATO ambassadors will not be allowed to begin the process of processing Sweden’s and Finland’s NATO membership applications on Wednesday. Turkey puts an end to that.
Turkey demands, among other things, the extradition of 30 people accused of terrorism in Turkey, writes Financial Times. The Financial Times cites an anonymous source. The news agency DPA also receives the information confirmed from its sources in NATO.
Also SVTs sources say that a decision is not expected in Sweden and Finland’s NATO applications today, due to Turkey’s skepticism.
