There could be a new corona wave in autumn. However, the current Infection Protection Act expires on September 23rd. The Minister of Health wants to change that.
bavaria Health Minister Klaus Holetschek (CSU) has the federal government asked to take care of the legal framework for a possible new corona wave in autumn. His ministry is currently consulting with experts on the necessary preparations, he said on Sunday. “But the best pandemic plan is of little use if we don’t get tools from the federal government with which we can implement it sensibly.”
Holetschek would like an updated infection protection law
Specifically, Holetschek would like an updated infection protection law. According to the current status, this expires on September 23rd. This would eliminate the possibility of ordering school tests. Holetschek said: “If the situation worsens again, we have to be able to protect the children and young people.” The Infection Protection Act can be amended and extended.
The Minister of Health also called on the federal government to also pay medical assistants (MFA) a care bonus. (dpa)
