The seafood market at the center of suspicion
This Monday, there are 40 patients, including seven in a worrying state, and one dead, a 61-year-old man previously weakened by medical problems. But a communication from the World Health Organization (WHO) has somewhat softened this bleak picture, reported the site of South China Morning Post this Monday: the disease is better known, its origin localized and it has not spread to this stage.
Contaminated people by this pneumonia The great majority had one thing in common: they frequented, as customers or exhibitors, the city’s seafood market. It closed its doors on January 1st.
“It appears most likely that the outbreak of the disease is associated with being exposed to a seafood market in Wuhan. (…) At this point, none of the health workers have has been affected and there is no hard evidence of human-to-human transmission, “said WHO.
The same organization said on Monday, however, that a new new case, coming from China, related to this virus similar to Sras had been reported in Thailand.
