Slovak hockey player Zdeno Chára has another milestone in his rich and long-term overseas career. Soon the 45-year-old defender played his 1636th match in the basic part of the NHL, thus becoming independent in the second place of longevity in a prestigious profile among the defenders.
In one duel, he surpassed the record of Canadian Scott Stevens, and before him is only the legendary American Chris Chelios and 1651 matches. Chára also had reason to rejoice with his New York Islanders on Monday, when they defeated the Philadelphia hockey players 4: 1 and prepared them for the eighth loss in the series.
