Gibran and Kaesang Reported to KPK regarding Allegations of KKN-Money Laundering

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Jakarta State University (UNJ) lecturer who is also a ’98 activist, Ubedilah Badrun, reported that President Jokowi’s two sons, Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Kaesang Pangarep, to the KPK on suspicion of corruption and money laundering.

“This report is related to allegations of corruption and/or Money Laundering (TPPU) related to alleged KKN (Corruption, Collusion and Nepotism) business relations between the President’s children and business groups suspected of being involved in forest fires,” said Ubedilah at the Red and White House. KPK, Jakarta, Monday (10/1).

He explained that the case was because there was a business relationship between Jokowi’s two sons and a company suspected of being involved in forest fires.

He said that in 2015 the management of PT BMH became a suspect in forest fires. According to him, PT BMH belongs to the PT SM business group. Ubedilah said that the handling of criminal cases did not work, so the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) filed a civil lawsuit demanding compensation of Rp. 7.9 trillion.

However, in its development, the Supreme Court (MA) only granted compensation of Rp. 78.5 billion.

“It happened in February 2019 after the President’s son formed a joint company with a senior company subsidiary PT SM,” said Ubedilah.

He stated that the alleged KKN involving two of Jokowi’s sons and the son of a high-ranking PT SM official with the initials AP was very clear because there was a capital injection of tens of billions of Rupiah from a company affiliated with PT SM.

“Twice, funds were disbursed. The figure was approximately Rp. 99.3 billion in the near future. And after that, the President’s son bought shares in a company whose figure was also quite fantastic at Rp. 92 billion,” said Ubedilah.

“It should be suspected that there has been a KKN between SM Group and the President’s children, the impact of which has directly harmed the state’s finances and has indirectly enriched the President’s children,” he concluded.

Regarding the report, Ubedilah showed evidence of the report with the number ‘Special’ with an attachment to a file with the subject of ‘Report on Alleged Crime of Corruption and/or Money Laundering (TPPU) Regarding Alleged KKN Business Relations between President’s Children and Business Groups suspected of Being Involved in Forest Burning ‘.

He admitted that he did not know anything about the case being prosecuted. Since running for mayor of Solo in 2019, Gibran has delegated his business affairs to his younger brother, Kaesang Pangarep.

“The problem of forest burning later belongs (asks) Kaesang unit (only),” he said.

Until now, Gibran admitted that he had not received a call from the KPK regarding the report. “Just check, if something goes wrong, please call. Salahe what is it proven? Ngono wae (that’s all),” he said.
