Ciamis DPRD Member Says Many Sidewalks Are Damaged and Switch Functions

Ciamis News, (harapanrakyat.com), – Ciamis DPRD Member Herdy Rusdiawan asked the Regency Government to reorganize urban areas, one of which was damaged road pavements.

He said that when he went around using a bicycle on holidays, he saw a lot of pavements that were in a damaged condition.

If presented, almost fifty percent of the sidewalks in the Ciamis city area are in damaged condition.

“Such as damaged by tree roots or damaged previously destroyed by being hit by a vehicle,” he said Friday (12/3/2021).

In addition to being damaged, he said, there are several sidewalk locations whose function is no longer for pedestrians.

That’s because the sidewalk was used to park vehicles for quite a long time.

There are also used to sell by street vendors by keeping the wheels of trade not moved.

For the damaged pavement, continued Herdi, it should have been repaired.

Not only that, the condition of urban street pavements has worn paint, meaning that there must be regular repairs to restore the function of the sidewalks.

For this reason, his party asked the relevant agencies to be able to carry out road pavement repair maintenance.

“Don’t let the damaged pavement be left alone until the walls are scattered about,” explained this member of the PAN faction.

Herdi continued, there were several points of the sidewalk which were in severe condition, such as on Yos Sudarso street, to be precise near the city park next to the Priangan Hotel, you could see the pavement was destroyed.

In fact, he said, as a sidewalk that has lost its function because it is used to sell flowers, it is near the red light of the Ciamis Sweet Market, the route to Jalan Iwa Kusuma Sumantri.

The red light at the Ciamis Sweet Market intersection is useless, there is a zebra crossing path to cross, while the sidewalk is not there because it is covered with flower trees that are sold by the roadside.

“So it must be brought into order to restore the function of the sidewalk for pedestrians,” he said.

Do not let because there is no firmness from the Ciamis government, the sidewalks that have changed functions are left alone.

For sidewalk repairs, of course there are two budgets, namely the pure budget and the change budget.

Hopefully, in 2022, the damaged sidewalks in the city of Ciamis can be repaired by the government.
