Hugging in times of corona: this is the winner of the World Press Photo Award

The best press photo is the main prize, but there are several other categories, 10 in all. There are for all categories 74,470 foto’s submitted from 4,315 photographers. In the end, one winner per category was chosen for a photo and one winner for a series of photos. There was this year not Belgian with the winning photos.

The price for press photo story of the year went to the Italian photographer Antonio Faccilongo. He made one eight-part photo series of a love story set in the setting of one of the longest lasting conflicts in the world: the war between Israel and Palestine. The photo story shows the impact of the conflict on the family life of Palestinian families.
