Correspondent Al Arabiya reported the Israeli Navy was on high alert after a missile attack on a cargo ship yesterday.
Meanwhile, two sources of maritime security to Reuters, Wednesday (14/4/2021), confirmed that an Israeli cargo ship was hit by a missile near the port of Fujairah.
While television stations Al Mayadeen in Lebanon, citing a source with knowledge of the ship, identified the ship under attack as the Hyperion Ray.
The ship is the second owned by the same company to be targeted following the attack on Helios Ray in February.
The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said on Tuesday it was aware of the incident taking place off the coast of Fujairah.
Israeli officials spoke on condition of anonymity, were quoted as saying Channel 12, blamed Iran for the missile attack on the Hyperion Ray ship. However, the accusation was not accompanied by evidence.
There has been no official confirmation from the governments of Israel, the United Arab Emirates, or Iran.

The incident came a day after Iran blamed its nemesis; Israel, sabotages its main nuclear site at Natanz.
Last month an Iranian container ship was damaged in an attack in the Mediterranean, two weeks after the ship belonging to Israel; MV Helios Ray was hit by an explosion in the Gulf of Oman.
