Former US President Bill Clinton has expressed concern over hate crimes against Asian Americans in the United States.

Former President Clinton said on his Twitter account on the 19th (local time), “I am deeply concerned about the increasing number of hate crimes against Asian Americans.”

“We must stand up to support our neighbors against all kinds of discrimination and refusing the ignorant rhetoric that promotes this violence.”

In the United States, there has been concern that violence against Asians is increasing in tandem with the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19). In particular, former President Donald Trump has been criticized for promoting such hate crimes by calling Corona 19 a’Chinese virus’.

In fact, violence against Asian Americans has continued in the United States recently. Late last month in San Francisco, California, an 84-year-old Thai man was beaten and killed on a morning promenade, and three days later a 91-year-old Asian man was roughly pushed and injured in Oakland, California.

Meanwhile, an interview with federal lawmakers is scheduled to condemn discrimination against Asian Americans. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is also planning to attend the conference, The Washington Post said.
