Nagold: She wants to pass on ease and happiness – Nagold & the surrounding area

In 2018, the first song by the up-and-coming pop star “Lebe Jetzt!” Except for the top three of the Schlager charts, the song stormed into the hearts of fans.

The access rates for the streaming services were six digits. What Virág showed: “There could be something going on” with the cheerful, carefree hit export from the northern Black Forest.

Only half a year later the second Vannika single was released: “Schwindelig vor Glück”. Even the makers of the RTL show “Supertalent” became aware of the hit artist from Ebhausen-Ebershardt. Vannika’s appearance “somehow” broke up because “I didn’t have enough drama in the biography”, or other applicants more than that. But for Vannika this is actually not a shortcoming. But rather a gift from God, a gift from God.

No problems, really no drama, not a bit of tragedy? The young woman herself shakes her head, a little puzzled. Somehow she was actually born under a lucky star. That she simply wants to share with everyone through her music.

Alexander Virág, the serious, cosmopolitan musician and composer who was also shaped by his own, sometimes dramatic life, tries to explain – what you don’t really have to explain: “Vanni” – as Virág likes to call his Schlager ward – “is incredibly disciplined “, very focused on what she wants and wants to achieve.

At the age of 24 today she is privately successful in the management of an international medium-sized company. School, studies, international experience, first career steps – all of this is a breathtaking, impressive success story. The Schlager career is also “the icing on the cake”, fun for leisure. Which is just as focused – “but never dogged” – is approached.

Mentor Virág can sometimes be mercilessly open: “There are others who can sing better than Vanni,” he chats without reservation from the sewing box of his hit company. “But nobody and nobody has such a constant performance” – in the studio, on stage, during rehearsals and learning. Zero attitudes, zero stage fright, no bickering – always maximum effort, rewarded by maximum recognition from the audience. “There are few, especially of their age, who are so professional at what they do”.

Although there is one thing that neither Vannika nor her body and soul composer Virág really does easily: “To write the songs for Vannika.” Because that is real, hard work.

The new song, for example: “My world is upside down”. The first ideas for this date from the end of 2019, beginning of 2020. Vannika had the first two years as a promising young pop musician. It should take until last summer for the ideas to become a finished song – although “Corona” was not the only one responsible for the long duration. Scraps of lines of text flew back and forth between Vannika, composer Virág – and “creative supporters”. The song, which turned out to be so carefree at the end, came together only slowly and with great effort.

Virág, who in his creative work is always under the influence of external factors such as pandemic, Brexit, Trump, constantly tends to allow “serious nuances” to flow into Vannika’s texts. Vannika intervenes: “I’m not!” Sure, she also sees the world’s problems. But those are not her subject as a singer. She wants to sing happiness, light-heartedness, the wonderful lightness of being, pure, pure happiness. And pass it on to the people. Therefore also “Schlager”! And nothing else. Virág also quarreled with that, he admits. But only a little.

Making music is hard work

The friendly, creative skirmish between the two musicians shows that making music is hard work, even if it is shallow hits like this. This is one of the reasons why both of them are already working “on two or three more songs” for Vannika parallel to the current release.

The goal: to have a complete album with your own songs at some point – even if “without time pressure”. Another goal: After the Corona year, in which almost nothing went with performances, at least sometime in the new year to be able to sing in front of an audience again.

At this point you can feel the sensitive side of Vannika: She lacks the applause, the direct contact with the audience, the people. Although she has kept that in check with the creative work on her songs so far. There is actually still a dream that Vannika dreams – and which could actually come true in the New Year: “An appearance in the ZDF television garden.”

In addition to the big ones in the industry. Not just to widen the range of the sung cheerful nature. But simply to savor the happiness of such a moment according to all the rules of the art. Jewels for the soul, your own memory. From which new, more songs by and for Vannika could emerge. “Happiness is probably the best recipe against the corona blues,” the young woman finally says casually in a sentence that just hits the mark.
